Jared is a small place in Pend Oreille County, in the state of Washington, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History
Jared got its name from a local business owner named R. P. Jared. In 1909, a post office was opened in the community. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it eventually closed its doors in 1943. Even though the post office is gone, the name Jared still marks this spot on the map.
