Early Basketball Journey
High School Years
Blossomgame went to Chattahoochee High School in Johns Creek, Georgia. He played for the school's basketball team, the Cougars. In his third year, he was a star player, averaging 24 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. This earned him a spot on the first-team all-region and second-team all-state.
In his final year, he led his team to a great 25–5 record. They made it to the "elite 8" round of the state tournament. During this time, he also played for the Georgia Stars in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), a league for young athletes.
Unfortunately, in 2011, he suffered a serious injury while practicing. He broke his leg while trying to dunk the ball. This was a major setback, but he worked hard to recover.
College Career at Clemson
Blossomgame decided to play college basketball for Clemson. Because of his leg injury, he had to redshirt his first year. This meant he could practice with the team but didn't play in any games, giving him time to heal.
After two seasons of getting better and better, Blossomgame had an amazing junior year in 2015–16. He averaged 18.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. He was named to the first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), a huge honor. He was also named the conference's Most Improved Player.
After this great season, he thought about joining the 2016 NBA draft. He was even invited to the NBA Draft Combine, where top college players show their skills to NBA teams. However, he decided to return to Clemson for his final year.
In his senior year, he continued to play well, averaging 17.7 points and 6.3 rebounds. He was named to the third-team All-ACC. After finishing college, he was invited to the NBA Draft Combine for a second time, which is very rare.
Professional Basketball Career
Starting in the G League
In the 2017 NBA draft, Blossomgame was selected by the San Antonio Spurs. He then joined their NBA G League team, the Austin Spurs. The G League is the NBA's official minor league, where players can develop their skills. In 2018, he helped the Austin Spurs win the G League championship. His great performance earned him a spot on the All-NBA G League Third Team.
Playing in the NBA
After playing for the Canton Charge, another G League team, Blossomgame got his big break. The Cleveland Cavaliers signed him to a two-way contract. This type of contract meant he could play for both the Cavaliers in the NBA and their G League team.
On December 5, 2018, Blossomgame played in his first NBA game against the Golden State Warriors. A few days later, he recorded his first "double-double" (getting 10 or more in two different statistics) with 11 points and 10 rebounds against the Milwaukee Bucks. He played 27 games for the Cavaliers.
Success in Europe
After his time in the NBA and G League, Blossomgame moved his career to Europe.
- Israel: In 2020, he signed with Ironi Nahariya in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
- Germany: In 2021, he moved to Germany to play for ratiopharm Ulm. He had a fantastic season and was named to the All-EuroCup First Team.
- France: Since 2022, Blossomgame has played for AS Monaco Basket in France. With Monaco, he has won the French league championship twice, in 2023 and 2024. He also won the French Cup in 2023.
One of his most exciting moments came in a EuroLeague game in 2023. He scored a game-winning dunk with only two seconds left on the clock to beat the team Baskonia 77–75.
