Jarrod Cameron, born on May 3, 2000, is a former professional Australian rules football player. He used to play for the West Coast Eagles team in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Jarrod Cameron's Early Life

Jarrod was born and grew up on Mornington Island in Queensland. He comes from an Indigenous Australian family, with Lardil and Waanyi heritage. When he was young, he enjoyed playing rugby league and baseball.

At age 11, Jarrod and his family moved to Newman, Western Australia. There, he started playing Australian rules football for the Newman Centrals Junior Football Club. His older brother, Charlie, also became a professional AFL player. Charlie was chosen by the Adelaide Crows in the 2013 AFL draft.

Because Jarrod lived in the Pilbara region and had an Indigenous background, he was eligible for the West Coast Eagles' Next Generation Academy. The West Coast Eagles picked him as the 39th player in the 2018 AFL draft. This happened after they matched a bid from the Brisbane Lions. Jarrod finished his schooling at Aquinas College, Perth, in 2017.

Jarrod Cameron's AFL Career

Jarrod Cameron made his first AFL appearance for the West Coast Eagles in 2019. This was during Round 14 of the 2019 AFL season. His team won that game against Essendon by 35 points.

Jarrod played as a quick forward. He was known for putting pressure on opposing players with his strong chase and tackles. He could also play short bursts in the midfield. Jarrod was delisted from the team at the end of the 2021 season. He did not play any senior games that year.
