Where the Yellow River Flows
The Yellow River is surrounded by other important waterways.
- To the north, you'll find streams like Cyr stream, Poireau stream, and the rivière le Renne.
- To the east, there is the Ulverton River.
- To the south and west, it is bordered by the Noire River (Yamaska River tributary).
Starting Point of the River
The Yellow River begins in an area called 8e rang. This is north of a marshy spot. This marsh is located southeast of the village of Roxton Falls and northwest of the village of Valcourt.
The River's Journey
The river generally flows towards the northwest. It mostly passes through farm areas, but sometimes it goes through forests too. The river's path runs just east of the village of Roxton Falls.
From where it starts, the Yellow River flows about 6.2 kilometers (3.9 miles) northwest. It reaches a road called Chemin de Béthanie. After that, the river travels about 6.8 kilometers (4.2 miles) west. This part of the river is mostly in farming areas. It crosses Route 222 about 1.7 kilometers (1.1 miles) northeast of Roxton Falls town center.
Finally, the river continues for another 5.8 kilometers (3.6 miles) towards the northwest. It winds through more agricultural land until it reaches its end point.
Where the River Ends
The Yellow River joins the Noire River (Yamaska River tributary) in a curve. This meeting point is in Acton Vale. It's about 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) south of the railway crossing in Acton Vale. It's also 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) north of the center of Roxton Falls. The river's end is close to Route 139 and Place-Lavallée. It is also 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) upstream from a place called Île aux Pins.
