Javicia Leslie (born May 30, 1987) is an American actress. She is well-known for playing the superhero Batwoman in The CW TV series Batwoman. She also played a villain called Red Death in The Flash.
Before becoming Batwoman, Javicia had important roles in other TV shows. These included The Family Business on BET and God Friended Me on CBS. She also starred in the movie Always a Bridesmaid.

Early Life and Education
Javicia Leslie was born on May 30, 1987, in Augsburg, Germany. Her family was a military family. Later, they moved to Maryland in the United States. She grew up in a town called Upper Marlboro.
Javicia went to Hampton University. While she was there, she acted in school plays. Some of these plays included Seven Guitars and Chicago.
Her Acting Career
After finishing college, Javicia Leslie moved to Los Angeles. This is a big city in California where many actors go to start their careers. She wanted to become a professional actress.
Early TV and Movie Roles
Javicia got her first big role in a Lifetime movie called Swim at Your Own Risk in 2016. She then became a regular actress on the BET show The Family Business.
From 2018 to 2020, she also starred in the CBS show God Friended Me. In this show, she played the sister of the main character. In 2019, she was the main star in the movie Always a Bridesmaid.
Becoming Batwoman
In 2020, Javicia Leslie got a very exciting role. She was chosen to play Batwoman in the TV series Batwoman. She took over the lead role from the original actress.
