Jaylen Morris (born September 19, 1995) is an American who used to play professional basketball. He played as a shooting guard or small forward. His last team was Raptors 905 in the NBA G League.
Jaylen played college basketball for Molloy College. Today, he is an assistant coach for Daemen University. He also works as a trainer at a basketball academy called XGen Elite in West Seneca.

Jaylen's Early Life and College Basketball
Jaylen Morris went to high school at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, New York. In his last year of high school, he was known as "Mr. Defense." This meant he was the best defensive player in New York State.
After high school, Jaylen didn't get any scholarship offers. So, he decided to go to Molloy College. His father, Patrick, was an assistant coach there.
During his time at Molloy, Jaylen became a very good player.
- After his second year, he received an honorable mention for the East Coast Conference All-Conference team.
- In his third year, he was named to the All-ECC Third-team.
- In his final year, he earned All-ECC First-team honors.
- He was the second-highest scorer for his team, averaging almost 20 points per game.
Jaylen's Professional Basketball Journey
Starting with the Erie BayHawks (2017–2018)
Jaylen Morris was not chosen in the 2017 NBA draft. But he worked hard and tried out for the Long Island Nets. Because of his efforts, he was picked by the Erie BayHawks in the 2017 NBA G League Draft.
Playing for the Atlanta Hawks (2018)
On February 28, 2018, Jaylen signed a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks. This was a big step! He made his NBA debut on the same day. The Hawks won against the Indiana Pacers. In that game, Jaylen scored 2 points and grabbed 2 rebounds in 11 minutes.
After his first contract, he signed a second 10-day contract. He then signed with the Hawks for the rest of the season. However, he got an ankle injury during this time. He left the team on July 19, 2018.
Time with the Milwaukee Bucks (2018–2019)
Jaylen signed a deal with an Italian team, Auxilium Pallacanestro Torino, in July 2018. But he decided not to go to Italy. Instead, he signed a special "two-way contract" with the Milwaukee Bucks. This type of contract lets a player play for both an NBA team and its G League team. He left the Bucks in January 2019.
Back to the Erie BayHawks (2019)
On January 31, 2019, Jaylen returned to the Erie BayHawks.
Playing in Greece with Aris (2019–2020)
In September 2019, Jaylen joined Aris Thessaloniki, a basketball club in Greece. He played there for the 2019–2020 season. He averaged about 10 points, almost 4 rebounds, and over 1 assist per game.
Playing in Israel with Bnei Herzliya (2020)
On October 27, 2020, Jaylen signed a short one-month deal with Bnei Herzliya. This team is in the Israeli National League.
With the Iowa Wolves (2021)
Jaylen joined the Iowa Wolves in the G League for their 2021 season. He played only one game with the team before leaving on February 12.
Joining the Austin Spurs (2021)
The Austin Spurs picked up Jaylen on February 14, 2021. But he got a season-ending injury and was released on February 25.
Later that year, on October 8, 2021, Jaylen signed with the San Antonio Spurs. However, he was released before the season started. He then re-signed with the Austin Spurs on October 27, 2021.
A Short Return to the San Antonio Spurs (2022)
On January 1, 2022, Jaylen signed another 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs. This was due to a special rule called the "hardship exemption."
Back to Austin Again (2022)
After his 10-day contract with the Spurs ended, Jaylen was reacquired by the Austin Spurs on January 11, 2022.
Playing for Raptors 905 (2023)
On October 30, 2023, Jaylen Morris joined Raptors 905. This was his last team as a professional player. He left the team on December 9, 2023.
Jaylen's Coaching Career
After his playing career, Jaylen Morris started coaching.
- On October 3, 2024, he was announced as an assistant coach for Daemen University. He works under coach Mike MacDonald.
- On October 18, 2024, he also became a trainer. He works at Darren Fenn's XGen Elite basketball academy in West Seneca.
