Early Life and Dreams

Jaz, whose full name is Aziz Hayat, was born in Brunei on March 5, 1993. He was raised by his grandmother from a young age. His grandmother was like a parent to him. Jaz always wanted to sing, but his grandmother initially didn't want him to become a singer.

Before becoming a musician, Jaz dreamed of being a soccer player. He was very serious about football. He even joined the Brunei Darussalam Under-16 National Team. In 2007, he played in a tournament in Thailand. Football was his main focus when he was a teenager. He practiced hard to become a professional athlete. At that time, music was just a hobby for him. But then, he discovered R&B music, and his dream changed.

Jaz began his singing career by performing at weddings. He also started writing and recording his own songs. One of his songs, I Stalk Your Profile, was shared on YouTube. Because of this video, Jaz was invited to perform at the Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM) in 2013. APM is a special awards show for musicians in Malay-speaking countries.
