Jean-François "J. F." Jacques (born April 29, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played as a left winger. J.F. Jacques was chosen by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. This means he was the 68th player picked overall that year. He recently played for HC Pustertal Wölfe in the Alps Hockey League.

J.F. Jacques' Hockey Journey
J.F. Jacques started playing hockey at a young age. When he was a kid, he played in the 1999 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. This is a famous tournament for young hockey players.
Playing in Junior Hockey
Jacques played for four seasons with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar team. This team is part of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). This league is for talented young players before they turn professional.
At the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers made a trade. They traded their 17th pick to the New Jersey Devils. In return, they got the 22nd pick and the 68th pick. The Oilers used the 68th pick to choose J.F. Jacques.
Starting Professional Hockey
Jacques began his professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) in the 2004–05 season. He played a few games for the Edmonton Road Runners.
For the 2005–06 season, Jacques was sent to the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL. He played there for the first half of the season. Later, he was called up to the Edmonton Oilers. He made his first NHL game on February 2, 2006.
Time with the Oilers and Other Teams
Jacques earned a regular spot on the Oilers' team during the 2009–10 season. On November 3, 2010, the Oilers sent him to their AHL team, the Oklahoma City Barons, for conditioning.
On September 24, 2011, Jacques received a suspension. This was for an on-ice incident during a pre-season game. He missed the rest of the pre-season and the first five games of the regular season.
In 2012, Jacques signed a deal with the Florida Panthers. He was sent to their AHL team, the San Antonio Rampage. Later, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He also played for the Springfield Falcons in the AHL.
Playing in Europe
In 2014, Jacques moved to Europe. He signed a two-year contract with Klagenfurter AC in the Austrian Hockey League.
After his contract in Austria, he moved to Germany. He signed a one-year deal with ERC Ingolstadt in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in 2016. He played 52 games for them.
