History of Jeffersonville
Jeffersonville was first planned and settled in 1831. The village was named after Thomas Jefferson, who was the third President of the United States. A post office, where people could send and receive mail, has been open in Jeffersonville since 1834.
Geography and Location
Jeffersonville is located in Ohio. The United States Census Bureau says the village covers a total area of about 1.74 square miles (4.51 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 1.70 square miles (4.40 square kilometers), is land. A small part, about 0.04 square miles (0.10 square kilometers), is water.
