Jemima West (born on August 11, 1987) is an actress from both France and England. She can speak two languages, French and English, and grew up mostly in Paris. She is well-known for her roles as Isabelle Lightwood in the movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and as Alice Whelan in the TV show Indian Summers. She also played Vittoria in the second season of The Borgias.

Early Life and Education
Jemima West's parents are English. Her father works as an accountant, and her mother is a business interpreter. When Jemima was five years old, her family moved to Paris, France.
She went to the Sorbonne University in Paris. There, she studied the history of art. At the same time, she took acting classes in the evenings. Jemima says she feels completely English and finds it easier to act in English. However, she considers Paris her home.
Acting Career Highlights
Jemima West started her acting journey at age 12. Her first role was in the 1999 film Joan Of Arc, directed by Luc Besson. She later appeared in a short film called I'm an Actrice. She also had a part in the third season of the Canadian TV series 15/Love.
After these early roles, Jemima starred in several French TV shows. These included Ben & Thomas, Trouble Paradis, R.I.S. Police Scientifique, and Josephine Ange Gardien. She also had her second movie role in King Guillaume.
In 2009, West was in a two-part TV thriller called Paradis Criminel. It was also known as Who Killed Little Red Riding Hood. She played the character Louisa. This mini-series won an award for "Best mini-series" in 2009. It was watched by many people in France.
A big role for Jemima was playing Isabelle Lightwood in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. This movie is based on a very popular book series by Cassandra Clare. Jemima acted alongside stars like Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Robert Sheehan. The movie came out on August 21, 2013.
