Jennifer White (born October 29, 1974) is an American journalist and radio host. She is well-known for hosting the radio show 1A. This show helps people understand important news and topics.
Jenn has worked in public radio since 1999. She started her career as a host for All Things Considered at Michigan Radio. Later, she moved to WBEZ in Chicago. There, she hosted Reset with Jenn White and created popular podcasts like Making Oprah. In July 2020, Jenn became the host of 1A, a national radio program. It is produced by WAMU in Washington, DC.

Jenn White's Journey in Radio
Early Life and Education
Jenn White was born in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up on the west side of the city. She was one of seven children in her family. When she was 16, her sister introduced her to a fun radio show called Car Talk. This sparked her interest in radio. She also explored her love for radio through performing arts classes at Cass Technical High School. Jenn later earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
Starting a Career in Radio
In 1999, Jenn began working at Michigan Radio WUOM-FM in Ann Arbor. Her first job there was in fundraising. She also did some occasional work on the radio. Her first official job as a radio host began in 2010. She joined Michigan Radio's All Things Considered program.
Moving to Chicago and New Shows
In 2016, Jenn White joined WBEZ in Chicago. She became part of their program called Morning Shift. Later, she hosted her own show, Reset with Jenn White. This show focused on local news and important community topics. In January 2019, she was named the main host of Morning Shift.
Creating Popular Podcasts
While at WBEZ, Jenn also created and hosted several podcasts. Two of her most famous podcasts were Making Oprah and Making Beyoncé. Making Oprah became the station's most popular podcast. It received great reviews from listeners and critics. In 2018, she also helped produce 16 Shots. This podcast was about an important legal case. She worked on it with the Chicago Tribune.
Hosting the National Show 1A
