Jennerstown is a small town, called a borough, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, United States. It's part of the larger Johnstown, Pennsylvania area. In 2020, about 679 people lived there.
Jennerstown is famous for the Jennerstown Speedway, a popular race track. The town was named after Edward Jenner, a famous doctor. It is located in southwestern Pennsylvania, between the towns of Somerset and Johnstown. A major road, Route 30, passes through it.

History of Jennerstown
Jennerstown was first settled in the late 1700s. It started as a stop for stage coaches on the Forbes Road. This was one of the first roads built by English settlers over the Allegheny Mountains.
The town was first called Laurel Hill. Later, it was renamed Jennerville. This was to honor Dr. Edward Jenner, who discovered the smallpox vaccine. Eventually, Jennerville became Jennerstown. Many buildings in the town are about 200 years old. This is quite old for the area.
For most of its history, Jennerstown has been a place for travelers to stop. It has also been a farming community. The town got its first post office in 1832. At that time, it had a few houses, a store, and a tavern. Jennerstown officially became a borough in 1874.
Jennerstown has never been a very large town. Its population of 714 people in 2000 was its highest ever.
Fun Things to Do
Jennerstown is home to the Mountain Playhouse. This is one of the oldest places for summer theater in the United States. The Mountain Playhouse has live shows every night from May to October. It has been doing this for over 75 years!
The Jennerstown Speedway is another popular place. Many people visit in the summer to watch exciting stock car races.
