Jennifer Ann O'Carroll (born Gibney on July 7, 1964) is an actress from Ireland. She is most famous for her role as Cathy Brown in the TV comedy show Mrs. Brown's Boys. She also took part in the TV dance competition Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.

Early Life and Training
Jennifer Ann Gibney was born in Dublin, Ireland. Before becoming an actress, she worked for the Irish tax office for seven years. After that, she worked at the Bank of Ireland. While working at the bank, she studied drama. She also joined the bank's amateur drama group, which is a group of people who act for fun. Jennifer then trained to be a professional actress at the Dublin Oscar Theatre School.

Jennifer Gibney started her acting career in 1996. Her first professional role was a small part in a movie called Some Mother's Son. Later, in 1999, she appeared in the film Agnes Browne. She also acted in the TV series Prosperity in 2007.
Playing Cathy Brown
Jennifer's most well-known role is playing Cathy Brown. Cathy is the daughter of Agnes Brown, the main character in Mrs. Brown's Boys. Jennifer's real-life husband, Brendan O'Carroll, plays Agnes Brown. Jennifer started playing Cathy in the 1990s in the original Mrs Browne shows. She has continued playing the role in the popular BBC TV show Mrs. Brown's Boys since 2011. She also played Cathy in the movie Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie. From 2017 to 2020, she appeared as Cathy in the talk show All Round to Mrs. Brown's. In 2022, Jennifer and Brendan played their characters again in the Netflix movie A Madea Homecoming.
Competing on Strictly Come Dancing
In 2014, Jennifer Gibney joined the TV show Strictly Come Dancing. This show pairs celebrities with professional dancers. Jennifer's dance partner was Tristan MacManus. They were the second couple to leave the competition. This happened in week three after they danced to the song "Mamma Mia" during Movie Week.

Personal Life
Jennifer Gibney married Brendan O'Carroll in 2005. She has three stepchildren from Brendan's previous marriage. Two of her stepchildren, Fiona and Danny, also act in Mrs. Brown's Boys. Her other stepchild is named Eric.
