Helen Mary "Jenny" Boyd was a model from England in the 1960s. She was born on November 1, 1947. Jenny is the younger sister of Pattie Boyd, who was also a famous model and photographer. Pattie was married to George Harrison from the famous band The Beatles. Jenny decided to stop modeling in the 1960s after she learned about Transcendental Meditation. She felt that modeling was not the best use of her time. Later in her life, she helped manage a center that supported people facing challenges. She also wrote two books.

Jenny Boyd's Early Life and Career

Jenny Boyd, whose full name is Helen Mary Boyd, was born in Guildford, Surrey, England. Her parents were Diana Frances Boyd and Colin "Jock" Ian Langdon Boyd, who was a pilot.

Modeling and Music Connections

In the 1960s, Jenny worked as a freelance model. She often went with her sister Pattie to modeling jobs. Because Pattie was in a relationship with George Harrison, Jenny got to meet the Beatles. She also met members of other famous British rock bands, including those connected to Eric Clapton. Jenny became known as a "rock star muse." This means she inspired musicians like Donovan and Mick Jagger to write songs about her.

In December 1967, Jenny worked at a store in London called Apple Boutique. This store was started by The Beatles but did not stay open for long. In early 1968, she traveled to Rishikesh, India, with Pattie and George Harrison. There, they studied Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Jennifer Juniper Boutique

In July 1968, Jenny and Pattie opened their own shop in London. They named it "Jennifer Juniper" after a song by Donovan. Jenny managed the shop, which sold old and interesting art objects. Pattie was in charge of finding and buying the items to sell.

Jenny also helped write two songs for the band Fleetwood Mac. However, the band's manager gave the writing credit to her husband at the time, Mick Fleetwood. In the early 1970s, Jenny, Pattie, and their youngest sister Paula were featured in a photo shoot for British Vogue magazine. The photos were taken by Patrick Lichfield.

Later Career and Books

In the late 1980s, Jenny went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She earned a special degree called a PhD in psychology. After that, she became a manager at a center that helped people with challenges. She also co-wrote a book called Musicians in Tune, which is about music and psychology. Jenny spent many years helping people at a support center in England. In 2020, she published her own life story, called Jennifer Juniper.

Jenny Boyd's Personal Life

Even though Donovan's song "Jennifer Juniper" was inspired by Jenny, they were never in a romantic relationship. Donovan did say he had a crush on her. The song "Jennifer Juniper" was released as a single in March 1968. It also appeared on Donovan's album The Hurdy Gurdy Man later that year.

Jenny met Mick Fleetwood when she was 15 years old. He was also young and went to her school. At that time, Mick was a drummer in a band called the Bo Street Runners. He later helped start the famous band Fleetwood Mac. Jenny and Mick had an on-and-off relationship for 15 years. They got married in June 1970 and had two daughters named Amelia and Lucy. After they divorced, Jenny later married another drummer named Ian Wallace in 1984, but they also divorced. In 1997, Jenny Boyd married an architect named David Levitt.
