I Gede Ari Astina, known as Jerinx or JRX, is an Indonesian musician. He was born on February 10, 1977. Jerinx is famous as the drummer for the rock band Superman Is Dead, which is based in Bali. He is also known for sharing his strong opinions on social issues.

About Jerinx: Early Life and Family
Jerinx was born on February 10, 1977. His full name is I Gede Ari Astina. He grew up in a Balinese Hindu family. He once shared that his name, Astina, comes from the ancient kingdom of Hastinapur in the famous story Mahabharata.
In 2019, Jerinx married Nora Alexandra. She is a model and businesswoman. Nora Alexandra was born in 1994. She has Swiss roots from her father's side and Javanese roots from her mother. After marrying Jerinx, Nora Alexandra became a follower of Hinduism.
Jerinx's Music Career
Jerinx finished high school in 1995. That same year, he began his music journey. He started the band Superman Is Dead (SID) with two friends. The band has three members: Bobby Kool, who sings and plays guitar, Eka Rock, who plays bass and sings backup, and Jerinx, who plays the drums.
Superman Is Dead has released many albums. Some of their popular albums include Kuta Rock City (2003) and Black Market Love (2006). Their album Sunset di Tanah Anarki (2013) was very popular. Jerinx wrote 11 songs for this album. One of the songs, "Jadilah Legenda," became a big hit. A writer from Vice magazine called SID "Indonesia's biggest pop-punk band" in 2018.
Besides music, Jerinx has also appeared in a few movies. He also runs several businesses. These businesses include places to stay, clothing brands, and bars.

Protecting Benoa Bay
Since 2014, Jerinx has been against a plan to reclaim land in Benoa Bay, Bali. He believes this project would harm the local community. On July 10, 2018, Jerinx asked Indonesian President Joko Widodo to look into the Benoa Bay issue. He wanted the president to keep a promise made in 2015.
