Jermareo Davidson (born November 15, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a power forward or center. Jermareo played college basketball for the University of Alabama.

Early Life and High School Basketball

Jermareo Davidson grew up in the United States. He went to Wheeler High School. This school is located in Marietta, Georgia.

College Basketball Career

Davidson played college basketball at the University of Alabama. He was part of the Alabama Crimson Tide team. He played there from 2003 to 2007. During his time, he was recognized for his skills. He was named to the First-team All-SEC in 2006. The next year, in 2007, he made the Second-team All-SEC.

Professional Basketball Journey

Jermareo Davidson started his professional career in 2007. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors. He was the 36th pick in the second round.

NBA Summer League and Early Teams

In 2007, Davidson played in the NBA Summer League. He was named to the All-Pro Second Team. This was a great start for him.

Playing for the Charlotte Bobcats

On July 26, 2007, Jermareo signed with the Charlotte Bobcats. He played for them for a while. However, he was released by the Bobcats in October 2008.

Time with the Golden State Warriors

After leaving the Bobcats, Davidson joined the NBA Development League. He played for the Idaho Stampede. He did very well there, averaging many points and rebounds. Because of his strong performance, the Golden State Warriors signed him. He first got a 10-day contract in January 2009. He played well enough to earn a second 10-day contract. Soon after, he was signed for the rest of the season. He also played for the Warriors' 2009 NBA Summer League team. However, he was waived by the Warriors in July 2009.

International Basketball Experience

After his time in the NBA, Jermareo Davidson played basketball around the world.

Playing in Turkey

On October 1, 2009, Davidson signed with a Turkish team. He joined Darüşşafaka Cooper Tires in the Turkish Basketball League. He was a top rebounder in that league. He averaged 15.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Later, in December 2012, he signed with Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi in Turkey. He played with them until February 2013.

Playing in Puerto Rico

In May 2010, Jermareo signed a contract in Puerto Rico. He played for Caciques de Humacao. This team is part of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league.

Playing in Germany

In August 2011, Davidson moved to Germany. He signed a one-year deal with the German club Skyliners Frankfurt.

Playing in Saudi Arabia and Qatar

Jermareo also played in the Middle East. In November 2014, he signed with Al-Ittihad Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. He also played for Al Rayyan in Qatar during the 2013-2014 season.

Awards and Recognition

Jermareo Davidson received several awards during his career.

  • In 2006, he was named to the AP All-SEC Second Team. This shows he was one of the best players in his college conference.
