Jerome Jones, born on October 25, 1981, is a talented American rapper and singer. You might know him better by his stage names, Romeo or Young Rome. He is also a member of the R&B music group called Immature, which later changed its name to IMx. In 2004, Jerome released his first solo album, Food for Thought.

Jerome Jones's Music Career

Jerome Jones was one of the first members of the R&B group Immature. Other members included Marques "Batman" Houston and Kelton "LDB" Kessee. Their manager was Chris Stokes.

The group released four albums under the name Immature:

  • On Our Worst Behavior (1992)
  • Playtyme Is Over (1994)
  • We Got It (1995)
  • The Journey (1997)

During this time, Jerome was known by his nickname "Romeo".

From Immature to IMx

In 1999, the group changed its name to IMx. They released two more albums:

  • Introducing IMx (1999)
  • IMx (2001)

Besides music, the group also appeared in movies like House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute and TV shows such as A Different World. The group stopped making music together in 2002.

Solo Music Journey

In 2004, Jerome Jones started his own music career as a solo artist. He used the name Young Rome for his solo work. His first solo album, Food for Thought, came out on June 22, 2004.

This album included popular songs like "After Party," which featured B2K member Omarion. Another song, "Freaky," featured rapper Guerilla Black.

Jerome Jones's Eye Condition

For many years, while he was with Immature/IMx, Jerome Jones wore an eye patch over his right eye. This made many people wonder if he had an eye problem.

Later, Jerome explained what happened in a song called "Look Down On Me" from his album Food For Thought. He shared that he was accidentally hit in the eye with a book. This caused a serious injury called a detached retina, and his eye lens came out. He needed three eye surgeries to fix it.
