Charles Williamson (born in 1977), known by his stage name Guerilla Black, is an American rapper and songwriter. He grew up in Compton, California, but was born in Chicago, Illinois. He became well-known after releasing his first album, Guerilla City, in 2004. This album included popular songs like "Compton," which featured Beenie Man, and "You're The One," featuring Mario Winans.
Guerilla Black released a song called "400 Shotz, the Funeral" where he musically challenged other artists like The Game. His most recent mixtape, "The Black Tapes," came out in 2009. This mixtape was special because Williamson showed a new way of rapping, which he mentioned in some of the songs. Other artists like Hot Dollar, T-Pain, and Akon were also featured on "The Black Tapes."
People have both praised and criticized Guerilla Black for having a voice and rapping style similar to the famous rapper The Notorious B.I.G.. He even honored Biggie in a song called "Letter to B.I.G." on one of his mixtapes. Guerilla Black also looks a bit like Biggie.
He is the brother of another rapper named Hot Dollar. Both brothers are part of a hip-hop group called Dolla Figga.
Besides his music, Charles Williamson also contributed to the video game 187 Ride or Die. He provided music for the game and also did the voice for a character named Dupree.
