Christopher B. Stokes is an American filmmaker and a former music executive. He is known for creating the record label The Ultimate Group (also called TUG Entertainment) in 1997. This label helped launch the careers of popular groups like B2K, Omarion, Jhené Aiko, Marques Houston, and IMx.
Chris Stokes has also directed many movies. Some of his well-known films include the dance drama You Got Served (2004). He also directed TV movies such as House Party 4 (2001) and Somebody Help Me (2007).

Chris Stokes' Career Journey
Chris Stokes first got involved in movies and TV through the talented people he managed. For example, Marques Houston started acting in 1992. He got a big role on the TV show Sister, Sister in 1994. The group Immature also appeared in the film House Party 3 in 1994.
Directing and Writing Films
Stokes began his film career in 2001. He wrote and directed House Party 4, which starred the group IMx. Later, in 2004, he wrote and directed the dance movie You Got Served. This film was very popular. It featured artists from his TUG label, including Marques Houston.
He also wrote and directed the horror films Somebody Help Me and Somebody Help Me 2. The first movie premiered on BET in 2007. In 2011, Stokes directed another horror film called No Vacancy.
Returning to Dance Films
In 2011, Chris Stokes went back to making dance movies. He directed Battlefield America. This film starred Marques Houston and Lynn Whitfield. The story is about a businessman who helps a group of kids form a dance team.
Recent Film Projects
In 2018, Stokes made a deal with Viacom for three movies. These films were We Belong Together, Running Out of Time, and Fall Girls. We Belong Together was the first original movie for the BET Network.
In 2019, BET+ announced a new legal thriller called Sacrifice. Chris Stokes wrote, directed, and produced this series. It stars Paula Patton. In 2020, his musical series "Howard High" started on UrbanflixTV.
BET+ also acquired Trigger in 2020, which Stokes directed. That same year, he directed Always and Forever. This movie featured actors like Lauren London and Wood Harris. In September 2020, Sacrifice became a TV series. Stokes continued to write, direct, and produce its 10 episodes.
In 2021, Stokes announced a new series called Foster Law. It was made for the Black streaming network UrbanFlix.
Tubi Originals
In 2023, Stokes released the third movie in The Stepmother series. This was the first time a three-movie series was released on Tubi. The films follow Elizabeth Carter (Erica Mena) as she tries to find the perfect family. Marques Houston also stars in these movies.
Tubi then released four more original thrillers by Stokes in 2023. These included The Assistant, Best Friend, You’re Not Alone, and No Way Out.
