Marques Barrett Houston (born August 4, 1981) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor. He started his career in the 1990s as a singer in the group IMx. He is also well-known for playing Roger Evans in the popular TV show Sister, Sister.

Early life
Marques Houston was born in Los Angeles, California, to Michael and Carolyn Houston. His mother sadly passed away from lymphoma in 1997.
Music career
Starting with the group IMx
In 1992, Houston helped start the R&B group Immature, which later became known as IMx. The group's manager was Chris Stokes. While in the group, Houston used the nickname "Batman."
The group released several albums and their music was featured in movies like House Party 3. The members also acted in TV shows. The group stopped making music together in 2002.
Going Solo
In 2003, Houston started his solo career. He released his first album, MH, which had popular songs like "That Girl" and "Clubbin'"'. The album did well on the music charts.
His second album, ... was released in 2005. It included the hit single "All Because of You". This album was also a success, reaching number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart.
In 2007, Houston released his third album, Veteran. It was a huge hit, debuting at number 5 on the Billboard 200. It was his first solo album to reach the number-one spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Later Music and IMx Reunion
Houston continued to release albums like Mr. Houston (2009) and Mattress Music (2010). In 2013, he released the album Famous.
In 2014, he reunited with his old group, IMx, and they toured together. They changed their name back to Immature and released a new single.
After a nine-year break from solo albums, Houston released a new album called Me in 2022.
Acting career
Houston's first acting job was as the voice of Khalil in the animated movie Bebe's Kids (1992). He later appeared in House Party 3 (1994) with his bandmates from Immature.
His most famous role was playing Roger Evans on the TV show Sister, Sister. He played the funny next-door neighbor of the twin sisters, Tia and Tamera. He was on the show for five seasons.
In 2004, he starred in the dance movie You Got Served as Elgin. That same year, he played Dumb Donald in the movie Fat Albert.
From 2005 to 2006, Houston had his own TV show called Cuts, where he played Kevin Barnes. He has also appeared in horror films like Somebody Help Me and its sequel.
More recently, he starred in the 2016 film A Weekend With The Family and appeared on the show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood in 2019 with his IMx bandmates.
Film producing career
In 2010, Houston began producing films with his longtime manager, Chris Stokes. Houston is the CEO of a film company called Footage Films. His bandmate Jerome Jones is the president, and J-Boog from the group B2K is the vice president.
Houston often writes and produces the films his company makes. Many of them are made for television. He has produced over ten films, including the 2017 movie 'Til Death Do Us Part, which was shown in theaters. In 2022, he produced and starred in a thriller called The Stepmother.
Personal life
In 2016, Houston became one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He married Miya Dickey in 2020. They have two children together: a daughter named Zara, born in December 2021, and a son named Greyson, born in December 2023.
