Jerry Leon Wallace (born December 15, 1928 – died May 5, 2008) was an American singer. He was famous for both country and pop songs.
Between 1958 and 1964, Jerry Wallace had nine songs that became hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. One of his most popular songs was "Primrose Lane," which reached No. 8. This song was later used as the theme for the TV show The Smith Family.
In 1965, he started making hits on the country music charts. He had 35 songs on these charts until 1980. During this time, four of his songs made it into the Top Ten country songs. His only song to reach number one was "If You Leave Me Tonight I'll Cry." This song became very popular after it was used in an episode of the 1970s TV series Night Gallery.

Jerry Wallace was born in Guilford, Missouri, in the United States.
In 1952, Jerry Wallace performed at a big music event called the eighth Cavalcade of Jazz concert. This show took place at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. Other famous musicians like Roy Brown and Louis Jordan also performed that day.
His Most Famous Songs
Jerry Wallace had several well-known songs. His first big hit was "How the Time Flies" in 1958. It reached No. 11 on both pop and R&B charts.
"Primrose Lane" (1959) was his biggest hit. It was written by Wayne Shanklin and George Callender. This song reached No. 8 on the pop charts and No. 12 on the R&B charts in the U.S. It sold over one million copies, earning him a gold disc.

- "Otoko no Sekai" (1970): This song means "The World of the Man" in English. It was his best-selling single but was only released in Japan.
In 1972, his song "If You Leave Me Tonight I'll Cry" was featured in an episode of the TV show Night Gallery. After this, the song became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in August of that year. It stayed at the top for two weeks and also reached No. 38 on the pop charts.
Awards and Later Life
In 1972, Jerry Wallace was nominated for the Country Music Association Award for Male Vocalist of the Year. His song "To Get To You" was also nominated for Single of the Year.
Jerry Wallace passed away on May 5, 2008, in Corona, California. He died after having congestive heart failure. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. He was buried at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
