Jeryl Prescott Gallien is an American actress. She is known for her roles in popular TV shows. These include playing Jacqui in The Walking Dead. She also played Madame Xanadu in Swamp Thing. More recently, she was Aktropaw in Ahsoka.

Early Life and Education
Jeryl Prescott was born in Hartsville, South Carolina. When she was young, she and her mother helped a local group. This group was called Willing Workers. It was a community organization.
Before becoming an actress, Jeryl was very dedicated to her studies. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management. She even worked as a trucker for a while. Later, she continued her education. She earned a Master's Degree in African American Literature. She also achieved a PhD in American Literature. Jeryl even taught as a professor. She taught at Wake Forest University in 1998. She also taught at the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Becoming Jacqui in The Walking Dead
In 2010, Jeryl Prescott got a big role. She played Jacqui in Season 1 of The Walking Dead. This popular zombie show premiered on AMC. Jeryl was first cast for only two episodes. But her character, Jacqui, became a regular part of the season. She even returned in 2012 for a Season 3 episode called "Hounded". In this episode, her character's voice spoke to Rick on the phone. She also appeared in archive footage in 2016.
