Jesús Posada Moreno (born April 4, 1945) is a Spanish politician. He used to be the President of the Congress of Deputies. This role is similar to the Speaker of the lower house of Spain's parliament, called the Cortes Generales. Before becoming a politician, he worked as a civil engineer and an economist.

Jesús Posada Moreno's Early Career
Jesús Posada Moreno began his public service in 1979. He worked as the civil governor for the province of Huelva. Huelva is a region located in Andalusia, a large area in southern Spain. He held this position until 1981.
Leading in Castile and León
In 1983, Jesús Posada started representing his home province of Soria in the regional parliament. This parliament belongs to the region of Castile and Leon. He then became the president of the regional government. He served in this important role from 1989 to 1991.
Serving as a National Minister
Since 1993, Jesús Posada has represented Soria Province in the Congress of Deputies. This is the main national parliament in Spain. He took over from José Antonio de Miguel Nieto.
Under the government led by José María Aznar, Jesús Posada held two important national minister positions:
- From 1999 to 2000, he was the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. This job involved looking after farming, fishing, and food supplies for the country.
- From 2000 to 2002, he served as the Minister of Public Administration. In this role, he was in charge of how the government worked and managed its services.
President of the Congress of Deputies
On December 13, 2011, Jesús Posada Moreno was chosen for a very high position. He was elected as the President of the Congress of Deputies. He received 202 votes out of a possible 350. He held this important leadership role for the tenth legislature, which is a period of parliamentary work. His term ended on January 13, 2016.
