Jesus "Jesse" Ernesto Pintado Andrade (born July 12, 1969 – died August 27, 2006) was a talented guitar player. He was born in Mexico and moved to the United States when he was young. Jesse became known for his powerful guitar playing in several important metal bands.
Early Life and Music
Jesse Pintado started his music journey in the band Terrorizer. This band played a style of music called grindcore. He helped create their first album, World Downfall. This album was special because it was the first to feature drummer Pete Sandoval. Jesse Pintado is even credited with creating the word "grindcore" in 1983. He used it to describe a new kind of music that mixed "noise and chaos."
Jesse lived in Huntington Park, California for some time. Later, he moved to Birmingham, England. This move happened when he joined the famous band Napalm Death. He took the place of their previous guitarist, Bill Steer. Jesse played on their album Harmony Corruption.
Later Career and Other Bands
In 2004, Jesse Pintado decided to leave Napalm Death. After he left, the band continued playing as a four-person group. Jesse then brought Terrorizer back together. He was joined by Tony Norman from Monstrosity and Anthony Rezhawk from Resistant Culture. Jesse and Pete Sandoval were the only original members in this new version of Terrorizer.
Besides Terrorizer and Napalm Death, Jesse also played in other bands. These included Lock Up and Brujeria. In both of these bands, he played alongside Shane Embury. Shane Embury was also the bass player for Napalm Death.
Legacy
Jesse Pintado's last home was in Ridderkerk in the Netherlands. He passed away in a hospital there. This happened a few weeks after Terrorizer released their second album. He died due to liver failure after falling into a coma caused by diabetes. Jesse Pintado is remembered as an important and influential guitarist in the world of grindcore and death metal music.
