Ridderkerk is a lively town and municipality in the western part of the Netherlands. It is located in the province of South Holland. In 2014, about 45,204 people lived here.
The area of Ridderkerk is about 25.26 km2 (9.75 sq mi). A small part of this area, 1.52 km2 (0.59 sq mi), is covered by water.
Besides the main town, the municipality of Ridderkerk also includes smaller places. These are Bolnes, Oostendam, Rijsoord, and Slikkerveer.
Ridderkerk has a special museum called De Oudheidkamer. This museum teaches visitors all about the town's history. In the center of Ridderkerk, there is a main square. This square is often used for fun events. The town also has a theater where you can watch shows.
