Jessica Kate Plummer (born 16 September 1992) is a talented English actress and singer. From 2013 to 2015, she was a member of the British girl group Neon Jungle. Their album, Welcome to the Jungle, reached number eight on the UK music charts.
Jessica is also well-known for her acting roles. She played Chantelle Atkins in the BBC soap opera EastEnders (2019–2020). She also starred as Emma in the BBC drama series The Girl Before (2021). For this role, she was nominated for a British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress. Besides acting and singing, Jessica has also appeared on reality television. She was on the show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here in 2020.

Early life
Jessica Plummer was born in London, England, on 16 September 1992. Her father is Jamaican, and her mother is English. She attended Burntwood School and the Hayes School for her secondary education.
Career
Starting with Neon Jungle
In late 2012, a music manager named David Cooper started looking for members for a new girl group. Jessica Plummer was discovered while she was shopping in London. Other members, Amira McCarthy, Shereen Cutkelvin, and Asami Zdrenka, were also found in different ways.
In February 2013, it was announced that Jessica, along with the other three, would form the new British girl group Neon Jungle. They picked the name "Neon Jungle" from their song "Welcome to the Jungle". Jessica explained that "neon" meant they were bold and strong individuals. "Jungle" showed their wild and unique personalities.
Music Success
In July 2013, Neon Jungle released their first song, "Trouble". It reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. It also made it into the top 10 on a US music chart.
In October 2013, Jessica and Neon Jungle opened for singer Jessie J on some of her tour dates. The next month, the group performed at the famous Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. In November 2013, their second song, "Braveheart," came out. This song was a big hit, reaching number four on the UK Singles Chart.
On 28 July 2014, Neon Jungle released their first album, Welcome to the Jungle. The album was very popular, reaching number eight on the UK Albums Chart. However, on 6 July 2015, Neon Jungle announced that they were splitting up.
Moving into Acting
In October 2013, Jessica made her first TV appearance. She was in the British science fantasy show Wizards vs Aliens for two episodes. She played a character named Chloe Martin.
In November 2015, it was shared that Jessica would be in a romantic-comedy film called How to Talk to Girls at Parties. She acted alongside famous stars like Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning. The movie first showed at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival in May 2017.
EastEnders and Other Roles
In March 2019, Jessica joined the cast of the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She played the role of Chantelle Atkins. Her character was part of an important storyline about domestic abuse. This storyline aimed to show how serious and dangerous abusive relationships can be. In September 2020, her character was sadly killed off as part of this storyline. This helped to highlight the real-life dangers faced by victims.
In November 2020, Jessica took part in the TV reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here. She was the sixth person to leave the show.
In 2021, Jessica starred as Emma in the miniseries The Girl Before. Her performance earned her nominations for two major awards. These included the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress.
