Jesús Armamento Dosado C.M. (September 1, 1939 – June 22, 2020) was an important leader in the Catholic Church in the Philippines. He served as the head of the church in Ozamiz for many years. He was first a Bishop and then became the first Archbishop of Ozamiz when it became an archdiocese in 1983. He retired in 2016.

His Life and Journey
Becoming a Priest
Jesús Armamento Dosado was born on September 1, 1939. He chose to dedicate his life to the church. On May 26, 1966, he became a priest. He joined a special group of priests called the Congregation of the Mission, often known as the Vincentians.
Becoming a Bishop and Archbishop
On October 31, 1977, when he was 38 years old, Jesús Dosado became a bishop. A bishop is a high-ranking leader in the Catholic Church who oversees a specific area. He first served as an auxiliary Bishop, helping the main bishop in areas like Cebu and Cagayan de Oro.
Later, he was assigned to lead the church in Ozamiz. After two years, in 1983, the church in Ozamiz became an "archdiocese." This means it became a bigger and more important church area. Bishop Dosado was then named the first Archbishop of Ozamiz. An archbishop leads an archdiocese, which is usually a larger region with more churches and people.
Retirement and Passing
Archbishop Dosado served the people of Ozamiz for many years. He retired in 2016 and was then known as the Archbishop Emeritus of Ozamiz. He passed away on June 22, 2020. His body rests inside the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Ozamiz City.
