Joshua Samuel Fatu (born August 22, 1985) is an American professional wrestler known as Jey Uso. He works for WWE on the Raw brand. Jey is famous for being one half of the tag team The Usos with his twin brother, Jimmy. He is also part of the famous Anoaʻi family of Samoan wrestlers.

Jey Uso's Early Life

Joshua Samuel Fatu was born in San Francisco, California, on August 22, 1985. He was born just nine minutes after his twin brother, Jonathan Solofa. Their parents are Talisua Fuavai and professional wrestler Solofa Fatu Jr. Jey is of Samoan descent and belongs to the well-known Anoaʻi family.

He went to Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida. There, he played football competitively. He continued playing football at the University of West Alabama from 2003 to 2005. He played as a linebacker for the team.

From Football to Wrestling

Jey Uso played linebacker for the University of West Alabama. Before the 2005 season, his football coach thought he would be a key player. The coach hoped Jey would help the defense. However, the season did not go as Jey had hoped.

Jey realized that his football career was not going well. So, he and his brother Jonathan decided to try professional wrestling. They followed in the footsteps of their father, Solofa (Rikishi), and their uncle, Eddie (Umaga).

Jey Uso's Wrestling Career

Jey Fatu started wrestling in 2008. In 2010, he joined Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), which was WWE's training ground. He wrestled as Jules Uso with his twin brother, Jimmy. Together, they were known as The Usos. They became FCW Florida Tag Team Champions.

Later that year, they moved to the main WWE shows. Their cousin Tamina Snuka and Jimmy's wife, Naomi, sometimes managed them. From July 2021 to June 2023, Jey was part of a group called The Bloodline. This group included his cousin Roman Reigns and his brothers Jimmy and Solo Sikoa.

Tag Team Success

As part of The Usos, Jey set a record in WWE. He held the male tag team championship for 622 days. This was their fifth time winning the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Overall, The Usos have won eight tag team championships in WWE. They won the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship three times.

They also won the Slammy Award for Tag Team of the Year in 2014 and 2015. In 2017, they won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship three times. They won it again in 2019 and for a fifth time in 2021. The Usos were the first team to win both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. They were also the first to hold them at the same time, as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.

Singles Career and Championships

Jey Uso has also had success as a single wrestler. In 2020, his rivalry with Roman Reigns was named "Feud of the Year" by CBS Sports. In 2021, he won the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 37.

Later, he won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship with Cody Rhodes. This was his fourth time winning the Raw Tag Team Championship. It was also his sixth time winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. In September 2024, Jey won the WWE Intercontinental Championship. This was his first singles title in his career.

In February 2025, Jey Uso won the Men's Royal Rumble. This win earned him a championship match at WrestleMania 41. There, he defeated Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship. This was his first world championship title.
