Jo Ann Terry loved track and field from a young age. She started her journey at Crispus Attucks High School. She graduated from there in 1956.
Becoming a Champion
In 1960, Jo Ann became an AAU champion. She won titles in both high hurdles and the pentathlon. The pentathlon is a competition with five different events. She also played on the basketball team at Tennessee State University.
Olympic Competitions
Jo Ann Terry represented the USA in the 1960 Summer Olympics. She competed in the 80m Hurdles event. Four years later, she went to the 1964 Summer Olympics. This time, she competed in the Long Jump.
