Her Education and Early Work
Joan R. Moschovakis earned her Ph.D. in 1965. This is a very high university degree. She got it from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her main teacher was a famous mathematician named Stephen Kleene. For her Ph.D., she wrote a long paper called a dissertation. It was about a complex topic in intuitionistic analysis.
Her Family and Lectures
Joan Moschovakis is married to another mathematician, Yiannis Moschovakis. They are both experts in logic. In 2014, they gave special talks together. These talks were called the Lindström Lectures. They gave them at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.
