Jodi-Ann was born in Jamaica. When she was 8 years old, she moved to Canada with her family. She later became a Canadian citizen. Because of this, she chose to play soccer for the Canadian national team.

She proudly represented Canada in two big tournaments: the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2007 and 2011. She also played for Canada in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
