Joseph William Burton (born November 2, 1990) is an American professional basketball player. He last played for BC Orchies in France. Joe played basketball for four years in college. He usually plays as a center or a power forward. These are positions where players are often tall and strong.

Joe Burton's College Basketball Journey
Joe Burton played college basketball for the Oregon State Beavers. He is a member of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians. This is one of the Luiseño Native American tribes from southern California.
A Special Scholarship
Joe made history by becoming the first Native American man to get a basketball scholarship. This scholarship was from a Pac-10 Conference school, which is now called the Pac-12. This was a big achievement for him.
College Stats and Records
In his final year of college, Joe played 32 games. He scored about 11 points per game (ppg). He also grabbed about 6.4 rebounds per game (rpg). Rebounds are when a player gets the ball after a missed shot. Joe is the only Oregon State player to achieve over 1,000 points, 700 rebounds, and 300 assists. Assists are passes that lead directly to a score.

Joe Burton started his professional basketball career in 2013. His first team was the Aalborg Vikings in Denmark.
Playing in Denmark
While playing for the Aalborg Vikings, Joe had great stats. He averaged 22 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. This showed he was a strong player.
Success in the Netherlands
For the 2014–15 season, Joe joined Landstede Basketbal in the Netherlands. He had a very successful year there.

- He was named to the All-DBL Team. This means he was one of the best players in the Dutch league.
- He was also part of the DBL All-Defense Team. This recognized his strong defensive skills.
Playing in France
After his time in the Netherlands, Joe moved to France. He signed with ALM Évreux Basket for the 2015–16 season.
- He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the LNB Pro B. This is the second-highest basketball league in France. Being MVP means he was considered the best player in the league that season.
On August 4, 2016, Joe signed with another French team, Chorale Roanne Basket. This team also plays in the LNB Pro B.
On July 10, 2018, Joe moved up to the top French league, Pro A. He signed with ADA Blois.
On August 13, 2019, Joe returned to his old team, Chorale Roanne Basket.
Playing in Finland
On August 17, 2020, Joe signed with KTP Basket. This team plays in the Korisliiga, which is the top basketball league in Finland.
