Joe Fletcher, born on September 10, 1976, is a Canadian former soccer referee from Niagara Falls, Ontario. He is currently a manager for senior assistant referees at the Professional Referee Organization.

Joe Fletcher's Soccer Career
Fletcher started his journey as a soccer official in 1999. He began working in the Canadian Professional Soccer League. This opportunity came from Tony Camacho, who was the Director of Officials for the league at that time.
Early Achievements
In 2007, Canada hosted the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Joe Fletcher was chosen to be one of the assistant referees for this big tournament. That same year, he also officiated the final match of the 2007 Open Canada Cup. His hard work was recognized when he was named the CSL Referee of the Year in 2007.
The Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) honored Fletcher with the Ray Morgan Memorial Award in 2012. He also received the Canada Soccer International Achievement Award in 2015.
Major League Soccer and Retirement
In 2018, Joe Fletcher was voted the Major League Soccer (MLS) assistant referee of the year. On January 18, 2019, he decided to retire from officiating games. After retiring, he became a referee instructor for the Canadian Soccer Association. In January 2020, he took on a new role. He was named the manager of senior assistant referees for the Professional Referee Organization (PRO).
World Cup Appearances
Joe Fletcher was selected as an assistant referee for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This was a huge honor for him.
In 2018, Fletcher was chosen again to be an assistant referee at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. This was his second time at a World Cup. He also served as an assistant video assistant referee for two matches: Argentina vs Iceland and Uruguay vs Portugal. Additionally, he was an assistant referee for other important games. These included Portugal vs Morocco, South Korea vs Germany, and a knockout stage match between Colombia vs England.
