Joe Tallari's Hockey Journey
Starting in College Hockey
Joe Tallari began his hockey journey in 2001. He played for Niagara University in college. He was a very important player there. In his final year, he became the team's senior captain.
Playing in North America
After college, Joe joined the Hartford Wolf Pack. This team was a "farm team" for the New York Rangers. A farm team helps younger players get ready for the main league. He played there for one season.
Next, Joe moved to the Johnstown Chiefs in the ECHL league. He had a great season there. He scored more than 50 points, which is a lot for a hockey player!
Over the next three years, Joe played for several teams. He switched between the ECHL and the AHL. Some of these teams included the Cleveland Barons and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He played for the Sound Tigers twice. He also played for the Las Vegas Wranglers.
Moving to Europe
In 2007, Joe Tallari decided to play hockey in Europe. He signed with the Manchester Phoenix team. He played under coach Tony Hand. Joe had an amazing season in Manchester. He was the second-highest goal scorer in the EIHL league. He scored 55 goals and made 38 assists in 59 games.
Because of his great performance, Joe won the 'Best Newcomer' award in 2008. He was also chosen for the 2007-08 EIHL All-Star team. This means he was one of the best players in the league!
Playing in Italy
In April 2008, Joe left Manchester. He signed with Hockey Club Pustertal-Val Pusteria in Italy. He hoped to play for the Italian national team. In May 2009, he signed with HC Eppan Pirats Internorm.
Joe led his league with 36 goals during the regular season. He helped Eppan-Appiano win the Serie B Championship. This was a big achievement for his team.
A Short Return to Hockey
Joe Tallari retired from hockey for a short time. But in the 2010-11 ECHL season, he played one more game. He played with the Wheeling Nailers. He was released from the team on February 19, 2011.
