Johannes "Joe" Taslim is a well-known actor, martial artist, and model from Indonesia. He was born on June 23, 1981. Before becoming a movie star, Joe was a champion in judo, a type of martial art. He was part of Indonesia's national judo team for many years, from 1997 to 2009. During this time, he won several medals, including a gold medal at the 2008 Indonesia National Games.

Early Life and Martial Arts
Joe Taslim was born in Palembang, Indonesia. His family is of Chinese descent and Christian. From a very young age, Joe started learning different martial arts. He was inspired by famous Japanese judo athletes like Kosei Inoue and Tadahiro Nomura. Besides judo, he also practiced taekwondo, pencak silat, and wushu. This strong background in martial arts helped him a lot in his acting career later on.
Judo Champion
Joe Taslim was a very successful judo athlete. He was a key member of Indonesia's national judo team for 12 years, from 1997 to 2009.

- In 1999, he won a Gold medal at the Southeast Asia Judo Championships held in Singapore.
- He earned a Bronze medal at the Southeast Asian Games in 2001.
