Joseph Michael Ward (born February 11, 1961) is a former Canadian ice hockey player. He played as a centre, which is a key position in hockey. Joseph is also the son of another hockey player, Don Ward.

Joseph Ward's Hockey Journey
Starting in Junior Hockey
Joseph Ward began his hockey career playing junior hockey. He played for a team called the Seattle Breakers in the WHL. This league is where many young players develop their skills before trying to play professionally.
Drafted by the NHL
In 1980, when he was 19 years old, Joseph was chosen by the Colorado Rockies in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 22nd player picked overall that year. This was a big step towards playing in the NHL, which is the top professional hockey league in North America.
A Short Time in the NHL
Even though he was drafted by an NHL team, Joseph Ward only played a few games in the NHL. He played just four games for the Colorado Rockies during the 1980-81 season. After those games, he did not return to play in the NHL again.
Playing in Other Leagues
After his brief time in the NHL, Joseph Ward continued to play professional hockey in other leagues. He played for teams like the Fort Worth Texans in the CHL. He also played for the Muskegon Mohawks in the IHL. His career in professional hockey lasted until 1984.
