Early Life and Drumming Journey
Joey Muha grew up in a small beach town called Port Dover in Southern Ontario, Canada. He started playing drums when he was about 14 years old. Since then, he has always been part of different bands.
He first began playing music with his older brother, Willie. Later, he moved on to play with other groups. Joey learned some drumming basics from his local teacher, Adam Reid. After that, he continued to learn and improve his skills on his own. He is known for being able to play many different types of music and drumming styles.
Musical Career and Bands
Joey Muha has played with several bands throughout his career. From 2009 to 2014, he was a member of a band called Our Lady of Bloodshed. He also played with OPTICS, a progressive death metal band from Hamilton, Ontario, from 2011 to 2014. With OPTICS, he recorded drums for their self-titled EP in 2011.
His first experience touring in the United States was in 2011. He played drums for Farewell to Freeway, a band signed with Victory Records, during their U.S. tour.
In 2012, Joey joined Threat Signal, a death metal band signed with Nuclear Blast Records. During this time, he also played with Cynicist, a metalcore band from Cornwall, Ontario. He appeared in their 2013 music video for "Ashes Remain." He also filled in for them during their East coast tour in 2014.
In June 2015, Joey announced he would leave Threat Signal. He joined Jungle Rot, another death metal band from Victory Records, full-time. Right after he joined, the band started recording their eighth album, Order Shall Prevail, with Joey on drums. That summer, Joey played with Jungle Rot on the Victory Records stage for the entire 2015 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
In August 2015, Joey announced he was leaving Jungle Rot. Since then, he has returned to playing with Threat Signal. He also plays with the band Sumo Cyco.
