John Button (born 27 July 1943 – died 12 January 2014) was an English Rallycross driver. He was also the father of Jenson Button, who became the 2009 Formula One World Champion. John Button was known for his love of racing and for supporting his son's career.
John Button's Racing Career
John Button loved motorsports. He was a successful Rallycross driver in the 1970s. Rallycross is a type of racing where cars compete on a mixed surface track, usually part asphalt and part dirt.
His best results in rallycross came in 1976. That year, he finished second in two important championships: the Embassy/RAC-MSA British Rallycross and the TEAC/Lydden Rallycross championships. He was a well-known figure in the racing world.

Even after his own racing career, John Button stayed very involved in motorsports. He became famous for being the father of Jenson Button, who grew up to be a Formula One superstar.
