John Lundvik (born on January 27, 1983) is a talented Swedish singer and songwriter. He was also a fast runner, known as a sprinter, in his earlier years. John has written songs for movies and even for a royal wedding in Sweden.
In 2018, John took part in a big Swedish music contest called Melodifestivalen with his song "My Turn". He did very well, finishing in third place. The next year, in 2019, he won Melodifestivalen with his song "Too Late for Love". This meant he got to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. He finished in fifth place, which was a great achievement! John also helped write a song for the United Kingdom in the same Eurovision contest, called "Bigger than Us".

Early Life
John Lundvik was born in London, England. When he was just one week old, he was adopted by a Swedish family living in the UK. He lived in London until he was six years old. Then, his family moved back to Sweden and settled in a city called Växjö. John has shared that he has never met his biological parents.
His Time as an Athlete
John Lundvik was a very active and skilled sportsman. He won many medals when he was younger, including gold medals in youth and junior competitions. He even took part in a special event called the Youth Finns Campaign in 2001.
In 2005, John was part of a relay team for his sports club, IFK Växjö. His team won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the Swedish Championships that year.

His Music Career
Starting Out: Songwriting and Melodifestivalen 2018
John Lundvik began his music career in 2010. He wrote a special song called "When You Tell the World You're Mine" for the wedding of Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, and Daniel Westling. This was a very important event!
After that, John continued to write music for other singers like Anton Ewald and Sanna Nielsen. He also composed music for movies, including Easy Money, and for the American TV show Empire.
In 2016, John wrote and sang "All About the Games". This was the official Swedish song for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. That same year, he performed a duet with singer Lill Lindfors on a popular Swedish TV show called Allsång på Skansen.
In 2018, John entered Melodifestivalen 2018 with his song "My Turn". He made it straight to the finals and ended up in third place.
Eurovision Song Contest Success
John returned to Melodifestivalen 2019 with his song "Too Late for Love". This song was a huge hit! It reached number one on the Swedish music charts in March 2019. John won Melodifestivalen, which meant he would represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Israel. He performed in the second semi-final and qualified for the grand final. In the final, he finished in fifth place with 334 points.
At the same time, John also helped write another song for Eurovision 2019. He co-wrote "Bigger Than Us", which was chosen to represent the United Kingdom. This song was sung by Michael Rice.
On February 16, 2020, it was announced that John was one of the songwriters for "Mon alliée (The Best in Me)". This song was the French entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
John participated in Melodifestivalen 2022 with his song "Änglavakt". He performed on February 12, 2022, and qualified directly for the final. In the final on March 12, 2022, he finished in eighth place.
Most recently, John Lundvik competed in Melodifestivalen 2025 with his song "Voice of the Silent". He made it to the final after his performance on February 1, 2025. In the final on March 8, 2025, John placed sixth.
Other Appearances
In 2020, John Lundvik showed off his dancing skills! He took part in the Swedish dancing TV show Let's Dance. He was a celebrity dancer and ended up winning the whole competition! He beat Sussie Eriksson in the final.
