Maj Lillemor "Lill" Lindfors (born May 12, 1940) is a famous Swedish singer. She has been performing in Scandinavia since the 1960s. Many people know her for her music and her funny stage shows. In 1966, she sang "Nygammal Vals" with Svante Thuresson for Sweden in the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest.

Lill Lindfors's Career
Lill Lindfors was born in Helsinki, Finland. Her family spoke Swedish. When she was eight years old, she moved to Sweden with her family.
She started her career in 1960 as an actress in a "revue" show in Uddevalla. A revue is a type of theater show with songs, dances, and comedy sketches. The next year, she made her first music recording.
In recent years, Lill Lindfors has become well-known in Scandinavia for her "one-woman shows." These are performances where she is the only star. She mixes music with a lot of comedy, making people laugh. She was one of the first artists in Sweden to sing samba music. She was also one of the first Swedish performers to do stand-up comedy in her shows.

Singing at Eurovision
In 1966, Lill Lindfors and Svante Thuresson sang the song "Nygammal Vals" ("New, yet familiar waltz") for Sweden. They came in second place in the contest.
Hosting Eurovision
In 1985, Lill Lindfors was the host of the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest in Gothenburg, Sweden. She became very famous for a funny moment during the show. As she walked through a part of the stage, it looked like her dress fell off! But she later said it was a planned joke. It was a trick that had not been practiced before. The people in charge of Eurovision, the EBU, were not very happy about the stunt. Even so, it is still one of the most memorable moments in the contest's history. She also performed the song "Musik ska byggas utav glädje" ("My Joy Is Building Bricks of Music") to open the show.
Other Achievements
Lill Lindfors has also been in several Swedish TV shows. Some of these shows have won awards at the Montreux festival.
In 1998, she became Sweden's Goodwill Ambassador to UNICEF. This means she helps UNICEF to promote children's rights and well-being around the world.
Lill Lindfors's Personal Life
Lill Lindfors lives in Stockholm, Sweden. She married director Peter Wester in 1969. They had a daughter named Petronella. They divorced in 1974. From 1974 to 1984, she was in a relationship with the actor Brasse Brännström. Since 1991, she has been married to the director Anders Byström.
