John Morton was born on May 18, 1967. He is an American who used to play professional basketball. Now, he is an assistant coach at Saint Peter's University. He played as a point guard and was 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 meters) tall.

College Basketball Career

John Morton played college basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates. He was part of their team from 1985 to 1989.

Professional Basketball Career

John Morton was chosen in the first round of the 1989 NBA draft. This means he was one of the first players picked to join the NBA. He played in the NBA for three seasons, from 1990 to 1992. During this time, he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat. On average, he scored 4.8 points, got 1.3 rebounds, and made 2.7 assists per game.

After his time in the NBA, John Morton played basketball in other leagues. He played for teams like the Rapid City Thrillers and several teams in Spain, such as 7Up Joventut, Somontano Huesca, CB Gran Canaria, and Covirán Cervezas Alhambra. He also played for the Richmond Rhythm and the Shell Turbo Chargers in the Philippines.
