John Rushing (February 26, 1972 – October 23, 2020) was an American football coach. He worked with both college and professional teams. His last coaching job was with the safeties at the University of Arizona. He also spent six years coaching defense at Utah State University.

Early Life and Playing Career
John Rushing was born and grew up in Merced, California. He loved football from a young age. He played college football at Washington State University. He was a starting defensive back for the team for all four years he played there.
After college, John briefly played professional football. He played for the Birmingham Barracudas and Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He also played for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL).
Coaching Career Highlights
John Rushing had a long and successful coaching career. He coached at many different colleges before joining NFL teams.
College Coaching
John started his coaching journey at Merced Union High School in 1995. He then coached at several colleges, including:

NFL Coaching
John Rushing also coached in the NFL for several years. He was part of the Green Bay Packers coaching staff from 2009 to 2016. During his time with the Packers, he helped them win a Super Bowl. This was Super Bowl XLV, which was a big achievement for him and the team. He also worked as a consultant for the Los Angeles Rams in 2016.
Family
John Rushing's brother, Kevin Robinson, also played professional football. Kevin was a wide receiver for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
