John Welsh (born November 7, 1914 – died April 21, 1985) was an Irish actor. He was known for his many roles in British films and television shows. He acted for over 30 years, from 1953 until his death in 1985.

John Welsh was born in Wexford, a town in Ireland. He started his acting career on stage in Dublin, the capital city of Ireland. In the 1950s, he moved to Britain. There, he began acting in many movies and on television.

John Welsh played many different characters throughout his career. Some of his well-known roles were in popular TV shows. He played James Forsyte in The Forsyte Saga, a famous BBC show from 1967. He was also Sir Pitt Crawley in Vanity Fair.
He appeared in other shows like The Duchess of Duke Street, where he played a waiter named Merriman. He was also in The Moonstone as Sgt. Cuff. You might also recognize him from a short scene as a barber in Brideshead Revisited.
