Johnnie Lee Gray (born December 18, 1953) is a former American football player. He played as a safety for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL). He also played college football for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. Johnnie Gray is a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.
Early Life and College Football
Johnnie Gray was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He went to high school at Lompoc High School in Lompoc, California. After high school, he continued his football journey in college. He played for both Allan Hancock College and California State University, Fullerton.
Playing for the Green Bay Packers
Johnnie Gray joined the Green Bay Packers in the 1975 NFL season. He was an undrafted rookie, meaning no team picked him in the NFL Draft. Despite this, he played for the Packers for nine seasons. This shows how skilled and dedicated he was.
Hall of Fame and Beyond Football
In 1993, Johnnie Gray was honored for his great career. He was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. After he stopped playing football, he became a football analyst for a TV station. Today, he works as a uniform inspector for the National Football League. He also co-hosts a TV show called Pack Attack TV. Johnnie Gray also works as an instructional aide at Syble Hopp School in De Pere, Wisconsin. This school helps children with disabilities.
