John Bernard Rogers Bakker (born December 30, 1963) is a Spanish-American former professional basketball player. Rogers played college basketball at Stanford University and at the University of California, Irvine. Standing at 6 feet 10 inches (208 cm) and weighing 225 pounds (102 kg), he played as a power forward.
During his professional career, Rogers won the EuroLeague championship twice, in 2000 and 2002. In 2018, he was honored by being named to the 101 Greats of European Basketball list.

Johnny Rogers' College Basketball Journey
Johnny Rogers started his college basketball career at Stanford University. He played for the Stanford Cardinal team from 1981 to 1983.
After his time at Stanford, he moved to the University of California, Irvine. He played for the UC Irvine Anteaters from 1984 to 1986.

Playing in the NBA
Rogers was chosen in the 1986 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings. He was the 34th player picked overall, in the second round.
He played in the NBA for the Kings during the 1986–87 season. He then played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1987–88 season. In total, he played 69 NBA games. He averaged 3.6 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
Playing in Europe
After his time in the NBA, Johnny Rogers moved to Europe. He played for many different teams in several countries.
He played professionally in Italy for teams like Philips Milano (1991–92), Cagiva Varese (1992–93), and Telemarket Forlì (1993–94).
Rogers also played for two of the biggest basketball teams in Greece: Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. With Panathinaikos, he achieved great success. He won two EuroLeague championships in 2000 and 2002. He also won two Greek League championships in 2000 and 2001.
Johnny Rogers and the Spanish National Team
While playing basketball in Spain, Johnny Rogers became a Spanish citizen. This allowed him to play for the senior men's Spanish national team.
He represented Spain at the 2000 Summer Olympics. This was a big honor for him.
