Jon Johnson, born on October 16, 1954, is a super talented American sound editor. He works on sounds for both TV shows and movies! A sound editor is like a magician for movie sounds. They make sure every sound, from a tiny whisper to a huge explosion, sounds just right. They pick the best sounds and mix them into the movie.
Jon Johnson has been a big name in sound editing for many years. He started his career working on sounds for fun animated shows. These included The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show and Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show.
His first big movie job was on the horror film documentary Terror in the Aisles (1984). Two years later, he became a supervising sound editor for the first time. This was for the TV special Return to Mayberry (1986).
Jon's work on major movies really took off with popular science fiction films. These included Star Trek Generations (1994) and Independence Day (1996). After these successful projects, he became a highly respected supervising sound editor in Hollywood.
His movie credits include U-571 (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Amazing Grace (2006), The Blind Side (2009), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), and Saving Mr. Banks (2013). He also kept working on TV projects. He was a supervising sound editor for the miniseries John Adams (2008) and the TV movie Grey Gardens (2009).
