Jonah Hill (born Jonah Hill Feldstein; December 20, 1983) is an American actor, filmmaker, and screenwriter. He is well-known for his funny roles in movies like Superbad (2007) and 21 Jump Street (2012). He has also shown his talent in more serious films, earning nominations for two Academy Awards. These nominations were for his performances in Moneyball (2011) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).

Besides acting, Jonah Hill has also directed movies. His first film as a director was Mid90s (2018), and he also directed the documentary Stutz (2022). He has lent his voice to characters in popular animated movies such as How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and The Lego Movie (2014).

Early Life and Education

Jonah Hill was born on December 20, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. His mother, Sharon Lyn, was a costume designer. His father, Richard Feldstein, worked as a tour accountant for music bands. Jonah has a younger sister, Beanie Feldstein, who is also a well-known actress. He also had an older brother, Jordan, who passed away in 2017.

Jonah and his siblings grew up in a wealthy neighborhood in Los Angeles called Cheviot Hills. He went to several schools, including Brentwood School and Crossroads School. After finishing high school in 2002, he attended colleges like The New School and the University of Colorado Boulder. However, he did not complete a degree. Jonah Hill is from a Jewish family.

While in college, Jonah Hill started writing and performing his own plays in New York City. These plays helped him realize he wanted to act in movies. He became friends with Dustin Hoffman's children, who introduced him to their famous father. This led to Jonah's first small role in the movie I Heart Huckabees.

After that, he appeared in Judd Apatow's film The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005). He then had roles in other comedies like Grandma's Boy (2006) and Click. In 2007, he had a bigger role in the movie Knocked Up.

His first main role was in the comedy Superbad (2007), where he starred with Michael Cera. This movie is often seen as the one that made both Jonah and Michael famous.
