Jonathan Craig is a politician from Northern Ireland. He is a member of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). Currently, he serves as a Councillor for the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council. He represents the Lisburn North area.
Before this, Jonathan Craig was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). He represented the Lagan Valley area from 2007 to 2016.

Jonathan Craig's Political Journey
Jonathan Craig was born in 1965 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. He went to Dromore High School and Friends School. Later, he studied at the University of Ulster.
Starting in Local Politics
Jonathan Craig began his political career in local government. He was first elected to the Lisburn City Council in 2001. He represented the Lisburn Town North District.
From 2005 to 2006, he served as the Mayor of Lisburn. This is an important role where he led the city council.
Serving in the Northern Ireland Assembly
In 2007, Jonathan Craig was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly. He became an MLA for Lagan Valley. An MLA helps make laws and decisions for all of Northern Ireland.
He was re-elected to the Assembly in 2011. At the same time, he was also re-elected to the Lisburn City Council. As an MLA, he was part of the Northern Ireland Policing Board. This board helps oversee policing in Northern Ireland.
Returning to Local Council
In the 2016 Assembly election, Jonathan Craig did not win his seat. However, he soon returned to local politics. He was chosen to join the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council. He represents the Lisburn North District.
He has been re-elected to the Council multiple times. This includes elections in 2019 and 2023.
