Jonathan Craig is a politician from Northern Ireland. He is a member of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). He currently serves as a local politician, called a Councillor, for the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council. He represents the Lisburn North area. He has held this role since 2016.
Before this, Jonathan Craig was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). He represented the Lagan Valley area. He was an MLA from 2007 until 2016.

About Jonathan Craig
Jonathan Craig was born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, on February 2, 1965. He went to Dromore High School and Friends School. He also studied at the University of Ulster. He is trained as an Engineer.
Early Political Career
Jonathan Craig started his political career in 2001. He was first elected to the Lisburn City Council. He represented the Lisburn Town North area. From 2005 to 2006, he served as the Mayor of Lisburn. This is a very important leadership role in the city.
Serving in the Assembly
In 2007, Jonathan Craig was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly. He became an MLA for the Lagan Valley area. He was re-elected to the Assembly in 2011. On the same day, he was also re-elected to the Lisburn City Council.
As an MLA, Jonathan Craig was part of the Northern Ireland Policing Board. This board helps to oversee policing in Northern Ireland.
In the 2016 Assembly election, Jonathan Craig did not win his seat again. Another politician from his own party, Brenda Hale, won the seat instead.
Return to Local Council
After leaving the Assembly in 2016, Jonathan Craig joined the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council. He was chosen to represent the Lisburn North area. He was re-elected to this council in 2019 and again in 2023.
