Jonathan Rayshad Davis, born on May 12, 1992, is an American baseball player. He plays as an outfielder. He has played for several teams in Major League Baseball (MLB). These teams include the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, and Miami Marlins. Currently, he is a free agent.

Early Baseball Days
High School and College Play
Jonathan Davis went to Camden Fairview High School in Camden, Arkansas. In his final year, he had a strong batting average of .419. He also hit three home runs and stole 19 bases.
After high school, he played baseball for the Central Arkansas Bears at the University of Central Arkansas. He played there for three seasons.
- As a freshman, he batted .350 with five home runs. He also had 30 runs batted in (RBI) and 21 stolen bases.
- In his second year, he hit .333 with 29 RBI and 17 stolen bases.
- In his last season with the Bears, Davis hit .268. He recorded three home runs, 49 RBI, and 25 stolen bases.
Professional Baseball Career
Starting with the Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays picked Jonathan Davis in the 15th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He started playing for the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays. In 43 games, he hit .238 with two home runs and 14 RBI.
In 2014, injuries limited him to just 28 games. He mostly played for the Low-A Vancouver Canadians.
- In 2015, he started with the Single-A Lansing Lugnuts. He moved up to the High-A Dunedin Blue Jays after hitting .408 in 13 games. With Dunedin, he played 47 games, hitting .230 with one home run and 14 RBI.
- Davis spent all of 2016 with Dunedin. He hit .252 and achieved his best numbers. He had 14 home runs, 54 RBI, and 33 stolen bases.
- During the offseason, he played 14 games in the Puerto Rican Winter League.
In 2017, Davis played the whole season for the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats. He hit .249 with 10 home runs, 45 RBI, and 20 stolen bases in 128 games. He also played in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and helped his team win the championship.
Davis started the 2018 season with New Hampshire. On June 26, he made history by hitting the first cycle for the Fisher Cats team. He hit .302 with five home runs, 33 RBI, and 19 stolen bases in 78 games. In July, he was promoted to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons.
On September 4, 2018, Davis was called up to the Toronto Blue Jays major league team. He got his first major league hit on September 12.
Davis began the 2019 season in Buffalo. He was called up to the Blue Jays on May 10. His first major league home run came on May 27 against the Tampa Bay Rays. He finished the season hitting .181 in 37 games.
In the last game of the 2020 regular season, Davis made an amazing catch. He leaped to stop a home run, and it was called a potential "catch of the year." For the 2020 Blue Jays, Davis batted .259 with 1 home run and 6 RBI in 13 games.
On July 30, 2021, the Blue Jays decided to move Davis off their main roster. This happened after they added another player, Joakim Soria.
Playing for the New York Yankees
On August 3, 2021, the New York Yankees picked up Davis. On August 10, 2021, Davis scored his first run for the Yankees. On September 9, 2021, the Yankees moved Davis off their main roster. Two days later, he was sent to the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. After the season, Davis became a free agent.
Time with the Milwaukee Brewers
On November 18, 2021, Davis signed a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers. He was invited to spring training. He started the 2022 season with the Triple–A Nashville Sounds. In 48 games, he hit .294 with 4 home runs, 22 RBI, and 14 stolen bases.
On June 18, 2022, Davis was called up to the major league roster for the Brewers. In 37 games for Milwaukee, Davis batted .224 with no home runs, 4 RBI, and 7 stolen bases. On September 26, Davis was sent back to Triple–A Nashville. He chose to become a free agent on October 6.
Joining the Detroit Tigers
On January 30, 2023, Davis signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers. He played 36 games for the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens. He hit .258 with 5 home runs, 20 RBI, and 5 stolen bases.
With the Miami Marlins
On May 22, 2023, Davis was traded to the Miami Marlins. The next day, he was added to their major league roster. In 34 games for the Marlins, he batted .244 with 2 home runs and 10 RBI.
In a game on July 4, Davis hurt his right knee. He was trying to catch a ball and hit his knee on the ground. The next day, he was placed on the injured list. An MRI showed he had a knee sprain. After surgery on July 6, his manager said he would miss 3-6 months. This likely ended his season.
On October 31, Davis was removed from the Marlins' main roster. He was sent to the Triple–A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. However, Davis chose to become a free agent on November 3.
On January 8, 2024, Davis signed another minor league contract with the Marlins. In 73 games for Triple–A Jacksonville, he batted .227 with four home runs, 19 RBI, and eight stolen bases. The Marlins released Davis on August 2.
