Jonathan Soriano Casas is a Spanish former footballer who played as a striker. He was born on September 24, 1985.
He spent his early career playing for Espanyol and Barcelona, mostly with their reserve teams. In January 2012, he moved to Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. There, he became a star, winning four league titles and four cup titles. He was also the top scorer in the Austrian Football Bundesliga three times. Overall, he scored an amazing 172 goals in 202 matches for Red Bull Salzburg.
Soriano also played for Spain's youth teams, scoring 27 goals in 25 games. He also represented the Catalonia team.

Club Career Highlights
Starting at Espanyol
Jonathan Soriano grew up in El Pont de Vilomara i Rocafort, Spain, and joined RCD Espanyol's youth academy. He made his first team debut in the 2002–03 season. He played for the main team while still part of their B team.
He later spent time on loan to other Spanish teams like Almería, Poli Ejido, and Albacete to gain more experience.
Time at Barcelona B
On July 30, 2009, Soriano joined FC Barcelona's reserve team, Barcelona B. He quickly became a key player for them. He helped the team get promoted back to the second division after 11 years.
In the 2010–11 season, he scored 32 goals. This made him the top scorer in the division and set a new club record for Barcelona B.
Becoming a Star at Red Bull Salzburg
On January 19, 2012, Soriano moved to FC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. In his first year, he helped his new team win both the league and the cup.
He quickly became the team's captain in the summer of 2013. He was known for scoring many goals, including several hat-tricks (three goals in one game). In the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League, he was the top scorer with eight goals.
Soriano was the top scorer in the Austrian league for three seasons in a row: 2013–14, 2014–15, and 2015–16. He scored 31 goals in 28 games in the 2013–14 season. He also helped Salzburg win the Austrian Cup multiple times.
On August 10, 2014, he scored five goals in a single league game against SV Grödig. In October 2015, he scored his 100th league goal for the club, reaching this milestone faster than many famous players. By March 2016, he had scored 150 goals in 170 matches across all competitions. His manager, Óscar García, called him "the best footballer I have ever worked with."
In March 2017, Red Bull Salzburg honored him by retiring his number 26 jersey. This means no other player at the club will wear that number.
Moving to China and Later Years
On February 26, 2017, Soriano joined Beijing Sinobo Guoan F.C. in the Chinese Super League. He continued to score goals regularly during his time there.
After leaving China, he played for Al Hilal SFC in Saudi Arabia in 2019. He then returned to Spain to play for Girona FC and later CD Castellón.
On September 24, 2021, on his 36th birthday, Jonathan Soriano officially announced his retirement from professional football.
International Career
Jonathan Soriano was a top scorer for Spain's Under-17 team. He scored seven goals at the 2002 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
He also scored four goals for the Under-21 team in a big 14–0 win against San Marino in 2005. He also played for the Catalan representative side.
